About Cara
I am a passionate and goal-driven flute tutor with 9 years of experience and around 150 students successfully guided through their musical journey. My teaching style combines strong technical training with creative musical development. I focus on breath control, embouchure strength, tone quality, articulation precision, finger coordination, and rhythmic consistency.
I customise each lesson to match the student’s goals and provide structured practice strategies for continuous improvement. I strongly emphasise consistency and self-discipline while maintaining an engaging and supportive environment.
One of my unique strengths is my ability to inspire students to stay motivated even when learning challenging techniques. My ultimate aim is to help students become confident, expressive, and technically accomplished flute players.

My flute teaching methodology emphasises building confidence, technical proficiency, adaptability, collaboration, and positivity. I focus on helping students become expressive and independent musicians.
I begin with posture, breath control, embouchure, tone quality, and finger coordination. Step-by-step exercises in scales, articulation, rhythm, and dynamics help students strengthen technical skills. Advanced lessons introduce expressive phrasing, dynamics, and stylistic interpretation.
I also teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension to develop well-rounded musical knowledge. Students learn to connect theory with practice, fostering a deeper understanding of music.
Flexibility allows me to customise lessons according to each student’s goals, pace, and level. Collaboration is encouraged through repertoire selection, interactive discussions, and goal-setting.
I maintain a positive, motivating environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and improve. My aim is to develop confident, disciplined, and expressive flute musicians.
