About Jora

With 8 years of teaching and performing experience, I am an experienced violin tutor committed to helping students achieve both technical mastery and musical expression. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.

One of the most rewarding milestones of my career has been helping students grow from struggling with technique, posture, or confidence to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and interpretation.

My teaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expression. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a well-rounded understanding of music.

I personalise lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, nurture talent, and cultivate a lifelong love for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to create lessons that balance technical mastery with creative exploration and performance readiness. Lessons are tailored to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured practice with improvisation, composition, and interpretation.

Motivation drives learning. I help students set clear, achievable goals, track progress, and celebrate accomplishments, fostering perseverance, engagement, and self-confidence. Communication ensures a collaborative and interactive environment where students can ask questions, share challenges, and discuss ideas freely.

Creativity is emphasised in every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice and develop an emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, instilling habits that ensure long-term growth and success.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing students with a holistic understanding of music. My methodology ensures students grow technically, creatively, and emotionally while developing a lifelong passion for music.
