About Alyssa
Hi! I'm Alyssa. I graduated in 2025 with a MA BA from the University of Glasgow in Sociology and Social and Public Policy, and my work is centred on community and social support. I was a competitive debater and speaker for eight years, and have attended several World and European championships, as well as led the training for the society's newcomers - so I've done a lot of talking! I am very passionate about language and I believe writing and reading are fundamental to all others - I can't wait to work with you to develop those skills!

I work to help English feel intuitive to learners by combining written and oral communication lessons and encouraging practice and fundamentals, rather than repeating grammar rules which are often difficult to grasp or to apply without context.
Sessions are 30 minutes to 2 hours, and include one-on-one exercises, collaborative review of schoolwork, and targeted work on grammar, reading and analytical skills, or speech and presentation.
I work with students from foundation up through GCSEs.
