About Maisie

I am an ESL tutor with 13 years of experience teaching around 150 students from High School and College levels. Teaching English is something I truly enjoy because it allows me to help students grow not only academically, but also personally. I focus on teaching English in a way that is simple, meaningful, and connected to real-life communication. My teaching philosophy centers around clear explanations, friendly guidance, and student-focused learning.

I always start by understanding what each learner wants to achieve—better grades, improved speaking skills, stronger writing, or clearer grammar understanding. I then design lessons that match their level and help them progress step by step. One achievement I value is helping students gain confidence in communicating in English. Many of my learners who felt shy or unsure at the beginning now communicate more fluently and comfortably.

They also perform better in school assignments and presentations. I use reading materials, storytelling, vocabulary-building exercises, grammar practice, and open discussions to make the lessons engaging and effective. My classroom environment is positive and encouraging. I want students to feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn. My mission is to help them develop strong English skills that will benefit them in their studies and future opportunities.

About the lesson

My ESL teaching approach is built on Communication, Flexibility, Creativity, Accountability, and Integrity. Communication is the core of my lessons because students learn best by using the language. I help them practice speaking through everyday topics, simple discussions, and guided conversations. This builds comfort and fluency step by step.

Flexibility helps me adjust lessons to each learner’s goals. Some students want to improve writing, while others want to focus on grammar or speaking. I design lessons based on their level and needs. Besides ESL, I also teach Reading Comprehension, Spoken English, Academic Writing, Vocabulary Skills, and Basic Literature.

Creativity keeps learning exciting. I use storytelling, short articles, listening tasks, role-play scenes, and picture-based practice. These activities help students connect English to daily life and learn naturally.
Accountability ensures steady progress. I set realistic goals, review performance, and give meaningful feedback. Students get small practice tasks that help them stay responsible and confident.

Integrity shapes the way I interact with students. I give honest advice, treat every learner with respect, and provide a supportive space where they can ask questions and learn without fear.
This approach helps students gain strong communication skills and feel confident using English in both academic and real-life situations.
