About Mary-Carmen

My name is Mary- Carmen and I have a BA in Philosophy and Educational Sciences. I have always felt enthusiastically committed to language learning and teaching. I hold a PGTC recognised by the British Department for Education and DBS certificate. I am a member of the Instituto Cervantes examination board for the International Certificate of Spanish as a foreign language (DELE).
Teaching experience:
In England, I was a Spanish lecturer at Barnet College for over eight years, where a wide range of Spanish courses were successfully taught at various levels including GCSE and A level. I also conducted an advanced diploma course in Translation English Spanish, at the former University of North London and was a language trainer to junior and senior executives at international British corporations.
In Italy, I have principally worked at the Ca’Foscari University of Venice: three years at the Faculty of Economics and four within the Department of Comparative Linguistic and Cultural Studies, teaching Spanish to undergraduate and first-year postgraduate students, as well as being a language trainer within Italian corporations.
Tutoring experience:
I specialise in tutoring Spanish and Italian to adults, bilingual children, secondary and undergraduate students.
For over 18 years, my lecturing work and my tutoring work has both work hand by hand: I have taught private Spanish courses to adults, secondary students and business people in a variety of settings and to people of different learning abilities and backgrounds in England and in Italy. I am currently teaching Italian courses to adult students; all levels of Spanish, preparing GCSE and A Level student for private and public educational institutions as well as primary school children.
I have a range of practical and IT based teaching resources that ensure that students never lose focus. I am keen to teach throughout the working day and evenings.
Rates vary according to level, goal and location. Student who wish to study remotely will enjoy a 10% against the rate stablished according to their level and goals.
