About Deisy

I hold a degree in Spanish, French and Italian Translation from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics for Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad Europea del Atlántico. I have been teaching for over 10 years in my country – Venezuela – and in France, where I had the opportunity to work with different publics (children, teenagers and adults) at schools, universities, private institutes and in companies (one-to-one.) I like to create different materials and use adapted learning methods in order to encourage and motivate my students to reach their goals. From a personal perspective, to grow up in a bicultural and bilingual environment -Portuguese as both of my parents were Portuguese migrants, and Venezuelan because it is where I was born and raised- as well as to have lived and worked in France, has allowed me to experience multiculturality up close enriching me as a person. It has also shown me that learning about other people’s culture and language helps us understand them better and provides invaluable insight into how to find common ground where everyone can understand each other whilst respecting and embracing cultural differences. In addition to my experience and personal qualities, I have a solid educational foundation and I am enthusiastic about teaching my own language and culture.
