About Juliana

Hi, I am Juliana, from Bogota, the capital of Colombia. I left Colombia at the age of 17 and have had the opportunity to work and live in over 10 countries (speak 4 languages: Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese). I am currently doing my second Master's degree and have a Master's in diversity and inclusion. My professional experience is very diverse. I worked in higher education for over 7 years in both academic and non-academic roles. I have been teaching Spanish for over 3 years, and living in Australia over the last 10 years has given me the opportunity to learn from different cultures and frame my teaching style and material based on the students' diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and individual needs. I love teaching and I love building relations with my students and use our classes as an opportunity to teach the language but also to share about the richness of the Latin American culture across its various countries. In relation to the students I have experience teaching, I mostly work with: 1. Young people or adults that are interested in traveling and want a basic understanding of the language for communication purposes 2. People that have a goal to prepare for a language test 3. High school students that need tutoring support when taking Spanish as a subject 4. Students interested in learning a new language and want to take a new hobby, looking to make the learning process fun and enriching

About the lesson

I have experience teaching both conversational and academic Spanish, from beginners (A1) to proficient (C2). My aim is to make the learning process simple, easy to follow, rewarding, and very important to also make it fun and engaging. Throughout the lessons, the key areas that I cover are: 1. Have a clear understanding of the students' needs and identify goals (short term and long term) 2. In collaboration with the student, set up a learning plan so the student feels part of the process 3. Encourage outside of class activities and immersive experiences to support the learning and encourage students to get out of their comfort zone 4. Use online resources as a complementary tool to the learning 5. Plan check-in points to assess learning experience/journey to celebrate milestones and identify areas of improvement 6. Make the learning process fun

Deadly! Juliana is simply amazing!

I've had a few different Spanish teachers in my time and she is by far the best I've ever had.

We continued lessons for over a year and she brought me to the level of Spanish I wanted to achieve.

Her lessons are structured, well thought out and fun. The material and exercises she prepared were perfectly aligned with my ability.

She is bubbly and fun and get's you excited to learn and practise Spanish.

I can't recommend Juliana enough!

I've had a few different Spanish teachers in my time and she is by far the best I've ever had.

We continued lessons for over a year and she brought me to the level of Spanish I wanted to achieve.

Her lessons are structured, well thought out and fun. The material and exercises she prepared were perfectly aligned with my ability.

She is bubbly and fun and get's you excited to learn and practise Spanish.
