About Benjamin
I am a Spanish national having lived and grown up in Asturias between the ages of 4 and 14, I was able to experience the education system there and the rich culture. I am also familiar with the GCSE and A Level curriculum, having experienced education in the UK as well. I have tutored and supported students with both GCSE and A Level abilities, but I am open and eager to teach Spanish speakers at any level - complete beginners too! I speak Spanish every day and I am passionate about language learning in general. Coming from a multicultural family, I have been exposed to a variety of languages throughout my life. I love learning myself, I also speak French and understand Tagalog, as well as currently learning Italian and German. As a tutor I want to spread my enthusiasm for languages, that I believe allows us to come closer together as a human race.

The lessons would typically be an hour long. I believe the best approach to learning is through conversations. I would assess my student's ability and focus most of the lesson around putting what is learnt into conversational practice. I begin my lessons by making my students feel welcome and introduce the topic of the lesson, using techniques merging communicative language teaching and the direct method. The aim is to be able to improve practically in Spanish ability, I use reading and writing tasks to aid my teaching - but the main aim is always to work with my students so they can feel more confident in their Spanish communication. I am a friendly, calm and approachable tutor always ready to adapt to the needs of my students, I will work with them to reach their language learning goals and bring out their full Spanish potential!
