About Christopher

I was born and raised in Guatemala until the age of 10. With Spanish being my first language I have been passionate about new and old literature which has expanded my vocabulary. I started tutoring when I was in high school. I wanted to take an easy credit so I took Spanish. Since I already knew Spanish they tested me and I was send straight to AP Spanish, that is when I started tutoring. As the teachers assistant I would conduct full lessons on food, culture, music and literature in class and outside of class I was privately tutoring my peers. From then on I have been tutoring. I have also traveled to Mexico, Spain, San Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. My traveling has taught me the different dialects of Spanish and their proper and improper ways to use it in their respected regions.

About the lesson

I always start with an evaluation of the individual and together we find out what is the best way to learn. If you learn by reading then we will read and dissect a book together, if you learn by listening we will go through mock everyday conversations and focus on pronunciation, if you love music we will have a song of the day listen to the song and dissect it so we have a full understanding of the lyrics. I have a teaching style that can adapt to anyone individual or group. Groups can also be a lot of fun. Learning small talk and how to continue a conversation is also something I love to focus and can be achieved, through a greater effect, by having groups of two to six people. Details

First lesson will always be free as it serves as an evaluation of your knowledge and what you would like and/or need to focus on. If you purchase multiple hours upfront, you get to decide what days, as long as I have the hours available. If for any reason you are unable to make it and would like to reschedule a 24 hour notice would be great.
