About Luke
I am a Spanish tutor with over 7 years of experience and a BA in Hispanic American Literature. My approach blends culture, language, and passion in one dynamic space. I specialize in using Latin American sports culture as a gateway to learning Spanish. From soccer stadiums to baseball fields, sports bring energy and excitement to every lesson. I design classes that explore sports commentary, helping learners understand the rhythm and vocabulary of live broadcasts. Fan chants and team cheers are also part of my lessons, offering a fun way to practice repetition, rhythm, and cultural expression. We also dive into athlete interviews, where students sharpen their listening comprehension and capture the nuances of spoken Spanish. By analyzing team strategies and discussing game highlights, learners practice critical thinking and expand their specialized vocabulary.
