About Ashley
Born in South Africa, my journey across the country as well as abroad has deepened my love for languages, cultural exchange, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Whether we’re dissecting a trending YouTube video, debating global stories, or sharing travel adventures, my lessons are designed to make learning feel like a lively chat over coffee. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me reading or going on adventures with my children.
I am a recently certified TEFL Level 5 Teacher. I am also a seasoned regulatory and compliance leader with over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector, specializing in retirement funds, governance, risk management, and legal advisory. Proven track record in senior leadership roles including Principal Executive Officer, Head of Operations, Legal Manager, and Non-Executive Director of companies. I am skilled in legal interpretation, stakeholder engagement, and aligning operations with evolving legislative requirements. Strong entrepreneurial background as owner of several businesses.

I teach comprehensible input using everyday materials such as YouTube videos, podcasts and articles, as well as engaging in complex but natural conversations. I prefer not to teach grammar in the conventional way, but rather to use several examples of the grammatical structure in a conversational context to help students absorb grammar in a practical manner.
