About Mabel

Hi, I’m Mabel.

I teach Mandarin Chinese in a way that helps beginners actually start speaking — not just studying rules and memorizing lists. My lessons are focused on real-life communication: the kind of Chinese you’d use when greeting someone, asking questions, or handling everyday situations.

Outside of teaching, I work part-time as a translator in a business environment. That experience helps me understand how Chinese is used in real communication, not just in textbooks, and I bring that into my lessons.

I’m especially good with beginners who feel unsure or “don’t know where to start,” because I break things down step by step and keep things practical, simple, and interactive.

If your goal is to speak basic Mandarin confidently and naturally, I’ll guide you through it in a structured but relaxed way.

About the lesson

TUTORING APPROACH
I help complete beginners start speaking Mandarin Chinese from day one in a simple, practical, and stress-free way. My focus is on real-life conversation, not just grammar or memorization, so you can quickly use Chinese in everyday situations.

Lessons are interactive with lots of speaking practice, pronunciation guidance, and real-life scenarios like greetings, shopping, introductions, and basic daily communication. I adjust the pace to match your comfort level so you never feel overwhelmed.

LESSON LENGTH & STRUCTURE
Each lesson is 45 minutes to 1 hour, focused on:
- Speaking practice
- Pronunciation
- Essential vocabulary
- Daily conversation skills
You’ll also get simple practice tasks after each class to help you improve faster.

EXPERIENCE
I have experience teaching and supporting learners in structured, patient, and easy-to-understand ways. I also work part-time as a translator in a business environment, which strengthens my ability to teach practical, real-world Mandarin used in professional and everyday communication.
