About Edward
I have a Master's degree in agriculture, specializing in genetics of animal science and aquaculture. My thesis used population genetics to assess aquatic species considered important for fish farming and global food security.
While completing my degree, I managed a molecular genetics research laboratory to prepare DNA markers for performing population genetic evaluations of freshwater and marine aquaculture species.
I also managed an aquaculture research farm for holding stocks of fish to perform growth trials and establish superior genetic strains for use in aquaculture.
Working with aquaculture farmers and environmental consultants, I prepared reviews and manuals on fish breeding and technical aspects of aquaculture and aquatic conservation.
I later worked in this field as an aquaculture genetics contractor and aquaculture production scientist where I continued to prepare and present aquaculture genetics training manuals and reviews.

As an introduction,
Consider the fact that aquaculture and conservation of aquatic species is an extremely important part of food security in the world. Population genetics is an essential tool in maintaining this food security.
I have been preparing and presenting training manuals for 20 years. More than 5 of these have been on the genetics of aquaculture and aquatic species conservation.
I present lessons in this area, following manuals I have written and prepared in English, however anyone with a basic understanding of English will be able to take the lessons.
Lessons are presented in half hour sessions using a convenient online platform. The training manual is provided as a template during the first lesson. Information sheets are then used during each lesson to compliment each section in the manual. The information sheets are discussed during each lesson. Once the lesson is complete a copy of the information sheet will become available to add to your manual.
The lessons are possibly specifically targeted at biology students however anyone interested in what population genetics is and how it can be applied in aquaculture and aquatic conservation genetics to preserve world food security will benefit from these lessons.
