About Andrea

Welcome to my profile!

I’m an experienced German specialist tutor for GCSE, A-Level, IB and adult learners. I have seven years of university lecturing experience and have been tutoring full-time since 2018.

I work with students at all levels, from school pupils preparing for exams to adults and professionals learning German for work, travel or personal interest.
I have experience with AQA, Edexcel and SQA qualifications and understand the demands of both school and university-level study.

My approach is clear, friendly and supportive, with a strong emphasis on helping students understand the language rather than simply memorising it.
I adapt my teaching to each student’s level, goals and areas for improvement, providing honest, constructive feedback and helping students build confidence and make steady progress.

Whether you are preparing for an important exam or learning German for your own reasons, I aim to make the learning process both effective and enjoyable.

About the lesson

# Personalised lessons

Every student has different goals, strengths and areas to improve, so I tailor lessons to your individual needs and level. Whether you are preparing for an exam, learning German for work or travel, or developing your conversation skills, the content and pace are adapted to you.

# Assessment and goal setting

We begin by establishing your current level and discussing what you would like to achieve. Through conversation and, where appropriate, a short reading or other assessment, I identify the areas that need most attention. We can then set clear, realistic goals and track your progress over time.

# Clear explanations and feedback

I believe in explaining language clearly rather than asking students simply to memorise rules. You will receive honest, constructive feedback throughout the course, with practical guidance on how to improve. Homework can be set where appropriate, and I review it carefully so that it contributes to your progress.

# A balanced lesson

Lessons can include a combination of:

**Speaking & Listening** – developing confidence, fluency and understanding.

**Grammar** – strengthening accuracy and understanding of how German works.

**Reading & Vocabulary** – improving comprehension, vocabulary and expression.

**Exam Practice** – for GCSE, A-Level, IB and other qualifications, including past papers, exam technique and targeted preparation.

Andrea is an excellent tutor, my needs were very specific, I needed a tutor who could take my current level of german and improve this towards fluency. He is very structured and prepared, we know what is to be discussed and improved upon. We meet weekly for 90mins and typically have an hour homework. My German has improved immensely, I am now reading german Novels and Newspapers, something I would have struggled with before we met. I would highly recommend Andrea
