About Joao

I’m a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with experience in both contentious and non-contentious legal work, including representing clients in Employment Tribunals and advising on a range of legal matters. I’ve been through the LLB and SQE myself — so I know how challenging legal study can be. I decided to start tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand the law in a clear, practical way. Legal study isn’t just about memorising cases — it’s about developing the ability to think critically, apply principles confidently, and write clearly under pressure. That’s where I can help. Whether you’re preparing for exams, struggling with legal writing, or just want someone to explain a difficult topic without the jargon, I’m here to support you.

As a qualified and practising Solicitor in England and Wales, I focus on clarity, practical understanding, and exam-readiness. I can help you break down complex areas of law into manageable parts, guide you through problem questions, and provide feedback on essay writing, case analysis, and application of legal principles. Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that’s mastering a specific topic (like contract, tort, criminal, or employment law), improving your structure or getting ready for assessments. You’re welcome to bring your own materials or let me help structure a plan based on your syllabus or exam needs. I aim to create a supportive, friendly environment where questions are encouraged and progress is measurable. I offer both one-off sessions (e.g. for exam prep or coursework review) and ongoing support.
