About Rylan
With 10+ years of experience as a violin tutor, I have had the opportunity to teach students from schools, colleges, and professional backgrounds. I enjoy helping learners discover the beauty of music while developing their violin skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed with the right guidance and practice. I believe in adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles and goals. Whether a student is learning for examinations, performances, or personal enjoyment, I provide lessons that are practical, engaging, and easy to understand.
During my teaching journey, I have successfully supported many students in achieving steady progress and building confidence in their abilities. Watching students perform with confidence and develop a genuine love for music has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
I emphasise proper technique, music theory, ear training, and expressive playing. I also encourage students to practise regularly and enjoy the learning process rather than feeling pressured.
My aim is to help students become confident violin players while making music learning enjoyable and meaningful. I welcome students of all levels and am committed to helping them achieve their goals.

My violin teaching style is based on communication, flexibility, and connecting lessons to real-life experiences. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to their abilities, learning style, and interests. I teach fundamental skills such as posture, bowing, fingering, tone production, and musical phrasing, while encouraging creativity and expression.
I use real-life examples like performing songs, learning to play with accompaniment, and understanding how music is applied in performances to make lessons practical and relatable. Alongside violin, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic keyboard skills to provide a complete musical foundation.
My goal is to create a motivating environment where students build confidence, discipline, and a lasting love for music.
