About Sienna

I am a professional Chess tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching high school and college students. Over the years, I have successfully guided more than 200 students, helping them improve their skills, confidence, and love for the game. My approach focuses on building strong foundations in openings, tactics, middle-game strategies, and endgame techniques, while also nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

I believe that learning Chess is not just about memorizing moves, but understanding ideas, analyzing positions, and making smart decisions. I use practical examples, real-game scenarios, and interactive exercises to make lessons engaging and effective. I also teach related strategy games such as Backgammon, Checkers, Risk, and Settlers of Catan to strengthen analytical thinking and adaptability.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in patience, encouragement, and clear communication. I aim to make every student confident in their abilities, passionate about Chess, and capable of applying logical thinking both in games and life. Seeing my students succeed in tournaments, improve their rankings, and develop a love for strategic games is the greatest reward in my career.

About the lesson

My teaching approach in Chess focuses on developing not only your skills on the board but also your strategic thinking, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. I teach students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, helping them understand openings, middle-game tactics, endgame strategies, and positional play. I also integrate lessons on related strategy games such as Backgammon, Checkers, Risk, and Settlers of Catan to enhance critical thinking and adaptability.

I believe learning Chess should be interactive, engaging, and fun. I use real-life examples, case studies, and practical game situations to help students see how strategies work in action. My teaching emphasizes creativity in planning moves, effective communication during analysis, and compassion to encourage a positive learning environment. I guide students to analyze their games, recognize mistakes, and develop solutions independently.

My goal is to make students confident decision-makers, able to apply logic and strategy both in games and in life. Through patience, encouragement, and structured lessons, I help every student cultivate a passion for Chess and other strategic games while improving their focus, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
