About Daan
I study Spanish Language and Culture at Utrecht University and want to teach in high school once I've finished my studies. I've obtained my VWO diploma with a final grade of an 8 (or a B in English/American grading) for my english class.
I have travelled through the majority of the United States and have a broad knowledge of American culture, which I'll gladly discuss in classes.
I've done voluntary work for 3 months at a school in Granada, Nicaragua (Central America), where I taught individually as well as in front of the entire class and organized activities for children aged 5 to 17. Among other things, I have taught English to Spanish-speaking children.

I like to adjust my lessons to the student. Together we set a goal that we try to achieve with the lessons. For example, we can focus on an upcoming test / exam or prepare an oral exam by practicing speaking skills. In addition to a focused approach, I like to involve the students in the learning process. There's often more than one approach and I think it's important to find the right one for every student. That approach might not always be storming through the textbook.

Wat een geweldige leraar is Daan!
