About Robert

I am a student with a passion for Spanish culture. I am relatively knew to tutoring but I am very enthusiastic about teaching and language learning.
I have always had a love for everything Spanish and immerse myself in the language during daily life by listening to Spanish music, facetiming Spanish friends, reading 'el pais' and through little things like having my phone in Spanish.

I spend at least 3 weeks every summer in Spain travelling, working and living with native speakers.
I have also had hands on experience volunteering as an english language teacher in Catalonia, Spain.
Moreover, having recently completed my GCSE and A-Level Spanish qualifications, you can be confident that I am not only aware of what Is required to achieve top level grades from personal experience, but also have access to up to date learning materials and my own notes.

No matter what your target grade is or the specific part of your Spanish language skill set you would like to improve, I will tailor the classes to your needs.
In particular, my expertise lies in practicing for spoken exams (such as the IRP and flash cards in AQAs A-Level Spanish qualification).

Finally, both my parents are full-time qualified language teachers; therefore, I also have access to a wide host of teaching materials.

About the lesson

Teaching 1-1 and in small groups creates a more personalised environment so I will tailor the lessons to each student's needs.
I am able to tutor anyone who is currently a complete beginner, GCSE, A-Level or first or second year degree level in modern languages.
As a C1 level Spanish speaker according to the CEFRL I would feel confident tutoring anyone up to B2 level.

Depending on your specific goals or course of study I will aim to tailor lessons to accommodate this.
I will set out lesson targets and topics in advance and I can create specific lessons around topics you might be struggling with.
I am also able to give you research topics and advice for the A-Level Independent Research Project (IRP).
I am confident teaching 'Pans Labyrinth'/'El laberinto del Fauno' and 'La Casa de Bernada Alba' as Essay subjects as part of the A-Level AQA course. Although, I am also able to cover some other A-Level literature and film options.

For beginners in particular, I will take a highly holistic approach to learning. Whilst grammar cannot be ignored in language learning, I use a variety of listening, reading, writing and speaking exercises to give you a rounded and varied learning experience.
I like to approach learning through different key topics each session and that way students can build up a good base of vocabulary and all the 4 key language skills from the very start.
