About Gen
I have finished my A levels, about to study architecture at university. I haven’t given online tutoring before, but I have given tutoring in person. As I’m still young I understand what you’re going through and I will consider this whilst teaching; all of my work is obviously still fresh in my memory making it easier for my to articulate my ideas and interpretation at a quicker pace yet an understandable one. I received an A in art history at AS level and am waiting on my results for A level. I am a good listener and able to simplify information, making it easier to understand. My lessons are structured such that we can achieve the optimum amount in the time frame given.

I make sure to focus on what my students don’t know rather than what they do, pushing them out of their comfort zones - making sure they have full knowledge of the syllabus. I will always begin a session by re caping the last session for the first 5 minutes - ensuring they understand. I will set homework every now and then; independent work is important for gaining the right work ethic. As a student wishing to study architecture, I am very good at explaining the analysis for buildings - which as those taking art history will know - is a guaranteed question to come up out of the four asked for an AQA A level paper. The periods I studied for art history were 17th century and 16th century. I also taught myself 20th century (modernism). For English literature I studied comedy and crime on the new AQA exam board ( papers 1B and 2B). The texts I looked at for 1B (comedy) were Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’, Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, and the poetry anthology. Whilst for 2B (crime) I looked at Greene’s ‘Brighton Rock’, Mc Ewan’s ‘Atonement’ and the other poetry anthology. I have plenty of critics and critical approaches for all of the texts as well as critics for both the 16th and 17th centuries in art history. Lessons will be structured such that we begin from the start of the text/ syllabus; For art history I will give you the best examples to use in each question - learning 3 artworks per session. For English we will begin by understanding what you know and then structure what you need to do or re cap from there.
