About Raphaël
I’m so excited to have you here in our online French class! My name is Raphaël, and I can’t wait to embark on this language-learning journey with you. I’ve been teaching French for 2 years (to students but also refugees), and I’m passionate about making the learning process enjoyable and engaging for everyone (if not, it is not worth it).
In our classes, we’ll explore the beauty of the French language through fun activities, conversations, and cultural insights. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to polish your skills, my goal is to create a supportive and friendly environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and expressing yourself.
I’m here to help you every step of the way, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything or want to chat about French culture or language tips!

I primarily adapt to the student’s needs, regardless of their level or motivation for learning French. In the first class, I assess their abilities in the four key areas: writing, speaking, listening, and reading. I also take the time to discuss their goals for learning the language, as well as the amount of time they want to spend for French.
Generally, each lesson is focused on one specific topic and one particular skill. However, I always incorporate reading and listening times into every session, even if it's just a few sentences or a minute of audio.
If the student is preparing for a specific exam (AAPPL, DELF, etc.), I include a practice exercise from a sample test in each lesson to help them become familiar with the exam format. I aim to maximize speaking time during the sessions.
I strive to adapt based on the student’s feedback, and I encourage open communication about their learning experience.
Practically speaking, I usually provide the course material 24 hours in advance via a shared drive, where I also post additional resources for further study or vocabulary lists. Additionally, I conduct regular progress reviews—monthly, for instance—to evaluate the student’s development across different competencies and to adjust the learning plan as needed.
