I'm a student studying BA French and Portuguese, proficient in French, Portuguese, and Spanish (all B2 Level). I have taught French and Spanish at KS3 and KS4 Secondary School level.

About Joe
I am a current student at university, in my 3rd year of studying French and Portuguese, having previously studied Spanish at A-Level standard. I am at B2 proficiency in said languages.
I undertook a teaching placement in a local secondary school last year, and was thrilled by the opportunity it presented - I found it humbling to be able to shape the developing minds of students, and I will follow through with this passion by doing a PGCE once I have graduated. I am DBS checked and able to provide this if required.
My lessons will be conducted online.
I am also confident in working with neurodivergent individuals; I myself am, so understand behaviour patterns and how to help the student excel in their personal circumstances.

Understandably, speaking is intimidating for new language learners. I believe it is paramount to get learners speaking the language straightaway, so that there is less stigmatisation around speaking, and it does not become a roadblock in the future.
For new learners, reading out short sentences is incredibly helpful - you get a feel of the sounds in your mouth and can even try out your best accent! This is a methodology I firmly believe in, reading sentences aloud after, for instance, completing grammar exercises.
In my lessons, I am happy to work through GCSE or A-Level textbooks, or devise my own activities tailored to the student's individual needs - I have done both whilst teaching French and Spanish at a Secondary School, and am happy to take the student's lead with what they would prefer.
The length of a lesson would be 1 hour (I am willing to do 2 hour lessons also, but I understand this can be overwhelming and draining for a student).
My lessons would be aimed at all GCSE and A-Level students in French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
