I have always had a passion for writing and I cannot stress how important it is, as it is an incredible life skill. Writing will get you anywhere, if done properly.
I strive to show my students how to write attention grabbing pieces that do not stray from the main idea and give them access to knowledge that will allow them to dissect a piece of literature so that they can properly write about it and answer questions about the piece.
