About Indigo
I'm a student at Oxford, and have been through the state school system and came out with not a single grade below A/8. I know what it's like to struggle when your school doesn't have the resources to help you, so I'm hoping to provide for others what I wish I'd had back then.
At this point, I'm fluent in French, and have managed to learn Russian from beginner's up to a B1 level in just the first year of my university course, so I have plenty of experience picking apart tough grammar and vocab into something easy to understand.
I hope to have students who love languages as well, but if not, that's understandable! For many, the way languages are taught in schools doesn't work for their learning style, and leads to frustration. With tutoring tailored to your needs, I'll get you loving French in no time.

Lessons will typically be an hour long. They will begin with a few minutes catching up from the previous lesson and assessing if anything needs to be covered again, before moving onto a dedicated lesson for one topic, based on the themes covered in the student's course. These should parallel the themes being covered in their lessons at school to have the greatest benefit, unless they are at the end of their course and revising previous topics.
This will include grammar exercises and explanations, speaking practice, and going over writing submitted in advance of the class. Writing will have to be submitted the day before a class, so I have time to go over it.
For advanced A-level students, the lesson will be almost entirely in French to ensure as much speaking and listening practice as possible, with grammar explanations in English - for GCSE students and A-level students who are not at that level yet, the amount of English used in the lesson will adjust according to their ability, to ensure they get the most out of our sessions without becoming frustrated.
For students not doing GCSEs or A-levels (eg KS3 or homeschooled children) we can work out a regime that works for their goals and abilities.
