About Jan
I recently moved to Sydney after building my career in Belgium. I have a background in both education and law enforcement, having worked as a teacher, including in a youth detention center, as well as several years as a police inspector.
Working in these environments has taught me how to connect with people from very different backgrounds and adapt my approach depending on the person in front of me. As a teacher, I learned how to explain things clearly and keep students engaged, while my experience in policing strengthened my discipline, structure, and problem-solving skills.
I particularly enjoy helping others build confidence and make real progress. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing at their own pace, while still being guided in a structured way.

Through my professional experiences, I developed a strong understanding of how people learn, perform under pressure, and overcome challenges.
As a study coach, I focus on helping students not just study more, but study smarter. Many students struggle because they were never taught how to learn effectively, that’s exactly where I come in.
My lessons are practical, structured, and tailored to each student. We work on:
Creating clear study planning and structure
Improving focus and concentration
Learning effective memorisation techniques
Breaking down difficult subjects into manageable steps
Building confidence and reducing stress around exams
I keep sessions interactive and goal-oriented. We don’t just sit and go through theory, we actively apply techniques so you can use them immediately in your own studies.
