• Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I speak swedish fluently due to being a native swede. I speak English due to Sweden having English classes in school from a very young age.

• Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  There's a lot of interesting characters in Sweden but out of the ones who have done themselves internationally known I would say that Greta is someone I'm proud to see.

• Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

  The Swedish language can be very similar to the English language but can very much differ at times, which makes it a challenge to teach which I love!

• Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  The language matters to me due to it being my native language!

• What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  When a students doesn't practice the language at least a little every day, the process becomes much slower. I wouldn't say that there's particularly reason for why Swedish might be difficult, it really comes down to how much effort and time the student puts in. If the student listens to Swedish songs, watches Swedish movies or reads something everyday the student will develop a lot faster.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  Each lesson I have with a beginner in Swedish I use specific sheets for each lessons with very important words that you need to learn in the beginning. I once had a student who never practiced the words and after a while of doing the sheets I always ask the student to put together sentences. The student then wasn't able to due to not learning the simple words. So once again it comes down to how much work and effort the student put in. I as a teacher will always provide as much material and teaching as possible for the student to be able to learn during class and practice outside of class.

• How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  When moving to London I learned more about the English language!

• What makes you a Superprof in language?

  I'm a native swede which means that I not only know the language but also the culture!
