About Ivy
With more than 17 years of experience, I am a dedicated Flute tutor teaching School, College, and working professional students. I believe learning music should be organised, enjoyable, and supportive for every student.
My tutoring style is calm, disciplined, and flexible. I guide students in breath control, posture alignment, finger accuracy, tone quality, rhythm control, and musical expression. Lessons are customised based on the student’s learning pace and goals.
In addition to flute training, I teach music theory, notation reading, sight reading, rhythm exercises, scale practice, ear training, and basic performance skills. I also help students prepare for exams and assessments.
One of my strengths is motivating students to stay consistent and confident. I provide clear guidance, personalised practice routines, and regular feedback. My aim is to help students grow as confident musicians.

My teaching methodology for flute is focused on clear communication, creative learning, and flexible lesson planning to support students at every level. I explain flute techniques in simple and clear language and use demonstrations to help students understand easily.
Open communication is encouraged so students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing difficulties. Creativity is included through creative warm-ups, rhythm exercises, tone development activities, and expressive music practice to keep lessons enjoyable.
I adjust lesson content and pace based on each student’s learning speed and goals. Flute lessons cover breathing techniques, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, articulation, scales, rhythm, and sight reading.
Along with flute, I teach related subjects such as music theory, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and basic performance skills to build strong musical foundations.
