About Valerie
I have been a teacher of English for 15 years and most of my students are ESOL learners. I think it is vital to focus on student goals while maintaining learner interest and involvement in order to make lessons fun as well as informative.

I have taught Functional Skills, Skills for Life, English, Maths and ICT with a work and/or health focus at College main sites and in the Community. I have experience of preparing learners for City and Guilds, Gateway, OCN and OCR accreditation as well as invigilating in exams. I like to create and use my own resources (assignments, tasks, tests and quizzes) to give the learners as much variety as possible. I enjoy inventing fun activities which incorporate learning whilst still staying aligned to the Scheme of Work.
