About Maya
My name is Maya, and I’m a hardworking, trustworthy 13-year-old straight-A student currently in 8th grade. I take pride in my ability to explain things clearly and make learning enjoyable for younger students. I’ve always loved school—especially math—and I enjoy helping others feel confident and successful in what they’re learning. I’m responsible, kind, and easy to talk to, and I always make sure my students feel supported and heard. I’ve worked with elementary and middle schoolers before, and I know how to break things down in a way that makes sense. I believe learning should be fun, not frustrating, and I always do my best to create a positive and productive space for every student I work with.

Hi! I’m Maya, a dedicated and enthusiastic 8th grade straight-A student who absolutely loves the Japanese language and culture. I’m currently studying Japanese every day and preparing to study abroad in Japan for five months, so I understand what it’s like to learn from the beginning and how to make it fun and memorable. My lessons are friendly, interactive, and based on what each student needs—whether it's basic vocabulary, writing hiragana and katakana, or practicing conversation. I use a mix of games, songs, real-life examples, and repetition to help students really remember what they learn. What sets me apart is that I’m learning, too—so I know how to explain things clearly and in a way that makes sense for beginners, especially kids and middle schoolers. Whether you’re brand new to Japanese or just want a fun practice buddy, I’m here to help you grow with confidence and curiosity!
