Subjects Taught: I think that it is crucial to provide students with a working knowledge of physical systems and to teach them problem-solving skills for building upon this knowledge. Teaching a
person to think analytically is at the core of what a student should take away from any science course. For students not majoring in physics, it is important to teach them how science affects their daily lives and how to make informed decisions about it based on information available. For physics majors, it is crucial to teach them the knowledge pertinent to their course of study and how scientists solve difficult problems using an approximation,
computational, and other quantitative methods. These important tools are invaluable to future researchers because they aid in the careful design of experiments and in determining the predictions of a model or theory. I would also strive to cover a range of topics in my courses. This would enable me to teach an array of different methods for approaching physical problems and to demonstrate how similar approaches can be applied to problems from disparate fields.
Furthermore, being a theoretician, I am well suited to teach physics majors how to construct theories and models, to derive predictions from these models, and to test these predictions against empirical data they have collected from the literature or obtained in the laboratory. Mentoring the research of undergraduate and graduate students is one of the most long-lasting contributions a researcher can make, and it is a process that I find fun and rewarding.
From my experience, I learned the importance of engaging students through examples and of pitching material at a level that assumes intelligence but not necessarily knowledge,
blending the known with the unknown in a combination that gives the student the feeling of possibility rather than that of impossibility that formal and impressive methods may impose. I would also enjoy teaching introductory physics courses. Although it is often challenging to teach introductory students, it is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy. Preparing lectures and solution sets forces me to communicate fundamental ideas in simple terms and to think deeply again about some of the most basic principles in physics.

Stavros Mouslopoulos is a person with deep understanding of both Physics and Mathematics.
He has many years of tutoring experience in the USA, Australia and Greece. He has collaborated with me during his stay in Greece and I am confident that he will be a fine addition to your group of tutors.
Best wishes

University of Patras, GreeceIt is with great pleasure that I write a reference for Dr Stavros Mouslopoulos, who has been tutoring my son, Joshua for his IB Diploma program in the subjects of Mathematics and Physics. In the time spent with my son, he has managed to improve his IB band scores for Maths and Physics from Band 3-4s to band 6-7s respectively.
Stavros is a highly qualified and an excellent tutor. He showed patience and step by step, methodology to effectively deliver his tutorials. He was always accessible for discussion, especially during exams period. His knowledge of both subjects is wide and full of breadth, and there were no tricky questions that were beyond his ability to elucidate clearly in the tutorials.
Hence it is without hesitation that I recommend Dr Stavros Mouslopoulos for a fantastic tutor in IB Diploma.
Yours sincerely

This note is to confirm that Stavros was employed by us as a part-time HSC physics tutor for our son, Eric. Stavros tutored Eric for 1-2 hours per week during this time.
We found Stavros to be a pleasant, good-humoured young man with a good command of English and a strong interest in teaching. His broad interests in university life also made him a good role model. He prepared well for his tutorials and was able to use a variety of teaching aids. We feel he contributed positively to Eric’s HSC performance and would have no hesitation in re-employing him for a similar task in the future.
Yours sincerely,
George & Helen LarcosIts with great pleasure that I recommend Stavros for tutoring mathematics and physics anywhere from high school to post graduate university. Stavros tutored all 4 of my children. He has an amazing ability to simplify very complex concepts.
To whom it may concern:
I have known Stavros Mouslopoulos for a year while he has been tutoring my
15-year-old daughter in Year 9 mathematics.
I have found Stavros to be an extremely competent and diligent maths
teacher. He has a deep knowledge of the subject and an ability to make
complex concepts understandable. My daughter‘s understanding of her
mathematics course work improved markedly over a year of tuition.
Stavros has a calm and cheerful temperament which is ideally suited to
teaching. My daughter an at times be distracted and it is to his credit that
instead of becoming annoyed, he has the experience to return her focus
tactfully to the task at hand.
My daughter has had other maths tutors in the past but has regarded these
private lessons as a tedious chore. Her attitude to maths tutoring has changed
since she started studying with Stavros, as his skilful teaching and friendly.
relaxed demeanour have made the subject palatable for her.
Stavros has always been punctual. polite and extremely professional in his
work. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to a prospective employer.
