About JeanClaude
Bonjour! My name is Jean-Claude, and I am originally from the Island of Mauritius - a French-speaking tiny country in the middle of the Indian ocean. I have many family members in Mauritius and in France and I keep in touch with them regularly. My brother (Pierre) lives in the South of France (near Toulouse) and my niece lives in Paris where she is studying to become a doctor. I often go to see French movies at the cinemas or else watch them on TV. I enjoy riding my bicycle and love to watch the Tour de France every year.
I also have cousins in Switzerland, Germany and in the Eastern states. We keep in touch and communicate mainly in French.

I usually get my students to be relaxed and encourage them to let me know about their interests.
Then I conduct the lesson around their interests.
Depending on their ability and progress, I give them challenges in small steps.
Reading, pronunciation and writing exercises are all done in small steps to build the student's confidence.
Watching a French movie or a show where I pause to explain or ask for an explanation are all part of making my lessons interesting. Depending on the level of their commitment at school, I can liaise with parents to get a clear idea of how I can link my lessons to improve my students' performance at school.
It is important to be encouraging and friendly.
