About Tilly
As a second year undergrad student, I have been through the school and exam system extremely recently. I am aware of what it is that the exam boards are looking for to get the top band of marks and equally as importantly, I also know what to avoid! English and theatre studies tend to be subjects which are strongly disliked by people who are scientifically minded or don't enjoy applying structure to creative subjects. These subjects are super approachable when you figure out what the how best to tackle a piece of writing. If you struggle with finding a pattern or structure to follow in English or find you get carried away, I can help you hit the points the examiners want to see. To me, it is really important that we find a learning style that you enjoy and engages you, sparking interest and motivation to improve!

The way we study is nearly just as important as the content we are studying when it comes to exams and so working to find the best way to retain knowledge has to be tailored to the tutee! I am really interested in trying out different methodologies to cater to the specific student if they have a preference. Lessons will typically last for an hour but again, I am very flexible on timings as a university student. I have not had experience as a tutor before but am charismatic, friendly and most importantly, willing to put in work outside of tutorials to ensure they are helpful and enjoyable. I am able to tutor up to and including A-level standard in both English Literature and Drama/Theatre studies. I personally studied the Edexcel exam board for English Literature and the AQA exam board for Theatre Studies.
