About Lisa
I am Lisa Lawrence. I am a full-time education student, currently in my final year of studying. In this time, I have completed a total of 7 practicals at different schools in Cape Town, South Africa. I knew from the young age of 8 years that education is my passion. It is my calling. I chose teaching because I wanted to make a long-term difference teaching the children of today to be competent and knowledgeable adults of the future. I also chose teaching because I want to create a space where learners feel safe, warm, loved, but where they can also flourish educationally. I've always been great at my languages and would love to share what I know and the skills and tips I have acquired with those who are willing to learn and commit.

My lessons are focused on what learners need. I allow for learners to explain to me what it is that they don't understand before I actually jump into a lesson. I do both teacher and learner centered learning. I do teacher centered for teach content where I act as the knowledgeable one and share the knowledge with you and I do learner centered where learners are leading the lesson by sharing their experiences and their own prior knowledge at the beginning of the lesson and based off that, myself and the learner can build up on what they already know and I can scaffold them to the necessary level needed to perform well academically.
