About Atanas

I'm a finance professional who was raised, educated, lived and worked for many years in Japan. I'm native level fluent in Japanese and have tutored English to Japanese and vice versa. I have worked as a Japanese interpreter before and I'm passionate for the cross-cultural exchange. I have and still use Japanese for my work.

About the lesson

Once basic understanding of the language is reached - alphabets, some knowledge of kanji and basic to intermediate grammar - many Westerner students of Japanese hit the wall. The climb over that wall to reach advanced level and mastery of the language can often be hard if not immersed in actual setting.

To provide that students need a versatile approach something that would make them interested in the language as well as the culture. I find sometimes students rely too much on formal textbooks that can confuse before clarifying. Such study of language is not practical for all that can often make people give up when they feel they cannot connect.

Western language structures are different from Japanese and Asian languages. Offering a different perspective for Western students I can connect that gap and aim to help people enjoy, even more, their studies of Japanese language and culture.
