About Syeda

Hello, my name is Syeda and I am 25 years old. I live in Richmond, Virginia. I have a degree in Global Studies and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Virginia. I plan on teaching English in Spain and WWOOFing (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) around Europe soon. In my spare time, I like to cook, read, write, hike, and spend time outdoors. An interesting fact about me: I speak 3 languages fluently and have studied 4 other languages. I am familiar with how difficult it can be to study other languages but I believe it is possible if you practice.

About the lesson

About six months ago, I received my TEFL certification to teach English as a foreign language. My strengths are in reviewing grammar and vocabulary. I provide conversational English to those who want to improve their speaking skills. I can be your tutor for personal, educational, and professional reasons.

In the past, I have helped middle school, high school, and university students prepare for exams on various subjects, like biology, literature, journalism, and business. I have also held conversational meetings to students of any age who wanted to speak on a variety of topics. Currently, I teach English to Spanish-speaking migrants of all ages in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

In my lessons you will find that I use multi-media resources, like videos and magazines, to familiarize students with real-life examples. I also use articles for reading comprehension.

I think having fun is important and there is no need to stress. Expect a relaxed but serious experience during my lessons. My goal is to make sure that you reach your goals!
