About Holly

I am a TEFL-qualified English tutor based in Scotland, specialising in helping B1–B2 learners improve their confidence in spoken English, particularly for work and everyday communication.

I studied Higher English at the University of Aberdeen, I have a legal secretary diploma and a background in psychology, criminology, and sociology. I am a mum of two small girls, helping them learn and explore the world brings me so much joy and patience. Helping my children navigate their upbringing has really encouraged my supportive teaching style.

I also run my own business, which gives me real-world experience of professional communication, organisation, and workplace language — all of which I bring into my Business English lessons.

I am currently learning Italian myself, so I understand the challenges of learning a new language and aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment for my students.

I enjoy travelling, history, and art, and I like incorporating students’ interests into lessons to make English more engaging and relevant.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured but flexible, with a relaxed and patient teaching style that helps you feel comfortable speaking and building confidence at your own pace.

We will focus on speaking practice, real-life communication, and personalised topics such as meetings, small talk, workplace situations, and everyday conversation. I adapt each lesson to your needs, using your interests, goals, and experiences to make the lessons relevant and engaging.
