I'm Penny, and I help beginner and intermediate learners feel comfortable with their English speaking!

Maybe you are looking for a reliable, encouraging and patient tutor. My lessons are collaborative, warm, supportive, and low-pressure - ideal if you are looking for reassurance and encouragement to cheer you on, and if you value human rapport over fast-paced drills and strict targets.

In my free time I love listening to podcasts and videos on personal development and languages. I'm also learning a little bit of Swedish, Polish, Welsh and Arabic.

These are online conversation lessons for beginner & intermediate learners in English as a Foreign Language. I bring a supportive, relaxed and encouraging student-centred approach, where you don't have to feel anxious about speaking and making mistakes.

Deadly! Penelope is the best! We were having casual, interesting conversations, so I could immerse myself in the process of speaking and feeling the language. At the same time, Penelope was paying attention to everything I said in terms of grammar, sentence structure, and pronunciation. We were not just having conversations - during each lesson, I got feedback about what I do right and what I do wrong. Deadly! My daughter has a hearing impairment and has cochlear implants in both ears. Due to her hearing difficulties, she has always been resistant to online classes. However, after a trial lesson with Penelope, she was greatly inspired by her enthusiasm and patience. She really enjoyed the class and is already looking forward to the next one! Thank you, Penelope!

Penny actually taught me conversational French, really enjoyed the lessons, interactive and appropriate. Penny is fluent in German because her mum is German. So if the French was good, the German will be impeccable.
