About Alanna
Hi there! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic Irish grinds teacher with a genuine love for the language. I spent six years studying at Coláiste na Coiribe where I built a strong foundation in Irish and developed a real appreciation for how the language can be taught in engaging ways. I’m currently studying Arts at the University of Galway, continuing to deepen my knowledge and passion.
I’m a creative person who enjoys looking at the teaching of Irish through a different lens. I believe the language should feel accessible, enjoyable, and relevant for every student — not intimidating. My aim is always to build confidence, break things down clearly, and help students connect with Irish in a way that actually sticks.
I truly love the language and take great pride in helping others discover that they can succeed in it too.

I use a hands-on, active-recall approach to teach Irish naturally and fluently. Students receive high-quality notes for independent study. One-hour sessions run online or in person, with follow-up quizzes reinforcing learning and helping students stay confident without stress-inducing cramming and steadily improving long-term language retention.
