About Ajay

I prefer to take GROUP classes for BTech/B.E/Diploma Mechanical Engineering students at my home/student home. But depending on a case-to-case basis, I may do individual classes too. As my specialities come under the Thermo-fluid domain, I can help students on subjects like Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Jet Propulsion, Internal Combustion Engines, Fuels, Gas Dynamics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning etc.

I try to keep the classes fun and interesting. Getting the student to be at ease with me is the first thing I ensure. Once that is done, it becomes easier to catch the student's interest in what I am delivering. To ensure that I don't fail in this, I keep the batch size minimal (not more than 5) to have better access to each student during the class and give personalized attention.

Classes are always filled with a lot of experiential learning. The theory taught is amply complemented with real-life examples, and so, video grabs and pictures are shared are with the students to aid their understandings. Problems are explored from multiple textbooks to ensure that the fundamental concept is thoroughly imbibed.

Concise lecture notes/ subject-specific handouts are distributed to aid the students to refresh the corresponding segments quickly. Online classes and Classes conducted at my home are recorded, and the recordings are shared with each student either daily/ weekly (after performing necessary editing).

About the lesson

I am a Spacecraft Engineer, and I am a University level professor, teaching Mechanical Engineering in a leading university in Bangalore. Thermodynamics is so fundamental that all high-end research I am involved in, about rocketry and combustion of fuels, will not be successful without applying Thermodynamics' fundamental laws.

I prefer to extend my tutoring services to the (concealed information) Diploma students. Since Thermodynamics is a subject that should be approached with an open, curious mind, that is not necessarily how the students usually do. The senior students and the teachers give a grim picture to the subject as such that the new students are always scared of it even before being introduced to it. I would like to contain this and inspire and encourage the students to explore the subject with a more open mind.

I would be exposing them to various learning materials (both online and offline) and various premier textbooks from the big personal library I have. Solving problems, and examining how the various authors have explained the concepts will give them a holistic understanding of the thermodynamic fundamentals.
