About Lily

Hi there, I first started to teach Chinese in 2015 in Shanghai. After relocating to the UK, I became a mandarin teacher in a trilingual nursery in London in 2018. Meanwhile, I obtained my CTCSOL certificate to become a mandarin teacher officially as I realized that I love China more than ever and I would like to share more about China to people who are interested in China. I love travelling to meet different things and people. I also enjoy my own quite time to have some Chinese tea and do calligraphy to relax my body and mind.

I do not have a fixed text book for my mandarin lesson as I tailor made it for each student I encounter with. There is a saying "因材施教" which means teaching according to the student's needs. I believe that everyone has their own needs, habits and interests when it comes to learning another language. So my first lesson will be more like gaining information from you and understanding each other to see if it would work for both of us. Of course, I understand that some of you might want to learn some textbook based lessons such as YCT, HSK etc. No problem at all. Just let me know! I have years of experience working with Children and businessmen. Therefore, I have no problem with students age from pre-school to adults. For me, teaching Chinese is not only my day to day job but also my passion. I can not wait to tell you everything about China and would like to show you what the real China is. So, in my class I might bring into a lot of Chinese culture knowledge to help you understand the real Chinese. Hopefully, one day if you go to China, you would realize I was telling the truth.
