About Kavya

I’m a piano teacher and composer with over 4 years of experience guiding students of all levels. My degree in Theory and Composition with a focus on piano has shaped my teaching into something both creative and structured. I help students grow musically while encouraging personal expression through improvisation. Piano isn’t just about reading notes—it’s about telling your story through sound. I emphasise spontaneous composition to build both skill and confidence. We often take a theme or chord and build music from the ground up. This kind of freedom helps students stay inspired. I work with everyone from young beginners to adults returning to the piano after years away. My goal is to make music feel approachable, exciting, and personal. I also perform and compose professionally, and I bring those insights into every lesson. About the lesson

My teaching style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I love helping pianists become strong, intuitive accompanists who can play with sensitivity and skill. If your goal is to support a singer, play with an ensemble, or build keyboard parts for recordings, I’ll help you get there. My lessons focus on rhythmic precision, harmonic fluency, and expressive timing. We practise with real examples—using lead sheets, backing tracks, and shared arrangements. I teach how to transpose, adapt textures, and cue naturally with other musicians. You’ll build strong listening skills and the confidence to play in any group setting. We use visual tools and real-time collaboration to reinforce concepts clearly. Every lesson is structured around personal goals, with space for questions and creativity. I’m especially dedicated to students working in faith settings or music production. These roles require both versatility and reliability—and I train you for both.
