About Rakshana

Hi! I’m Rakshana — a vocalist, performer, and passionate teacher who truly believes that everyone can sing with the right guidance. I’ve trained in Western classical and musical theatre vocals at KM Music Conservatory in Chennai and Middlesex University in London, and I’ve taught students of all ages across the UK and India. What I love most about teaching is seeing a student light up when they hit a note they thought they couldn’t. My classes are friendly, supportive, and tailored to your voice, whether you're a shy beginner or preparing for a stage performance. I bring both professional training and real stage experience, but most importantly, I bring patience, encouragement, and a love for music that I’m excited to share with you. Let’s grow your voice — together.

About the lesson

I believe that every voice is special, and my goal is to help each student feel confident and enjoy singing. I make sure my lessons are fun, clear, and suited to each person’s level and goals.

I teach pop, rock, western classical, musical theatre, and music theory.

I am kind, patient, and encouraging – I create a safe space to explore and grow.

I use simple techniques to improve breathing, pitch, tone, and stage confidence.

Each class usually has four parts:

1) Warm-up exercises for the voice (10 minutes)

2) Focus on technique (like breath or posture) (10–15 minutes)

3) Singing a song or working on a piece (25–30 minutes)

4) Quick feedback and practice tips (5 minutes)

Who Can Join My Classes-

-Kids (5+) who love music and want to learn (I also use games and storytelling with younger students to make learning fun.)

-Teens preparing for music exams or performances

-Adults who want to improve or get back into singing

-Anyone who wants to sing confidently and enjoy music

Rakshana is my vocal teacher for over 2 years now. She helped me a lot during my recital and compititions. I won quite a few all thanks to her guidance and knowledge. She has a very good understanding of vocal techniques and human psychology.
She helps you understand and deliver the information without you feeling confused or overwhelmed. She is very professional and a great person. She just doesn't help you understand the technicalities of singing but also helps in terms of understanding what it takes to deliver a song with absolute understanding and emotion.
