About Midori
Hello, my name is Midori, and I am currently a Trainee Artist with London City Ballet after graduating from Central School of Ballet.
Through my years of dancing, I have had the opportunity to experience many different dance techniques, which I believe have broadened my knowledge of ballet vocabulary and the different approaches that can be taken within ballet technique. In addition, while working towards my Pilates certification, I have gained a greater understanding of human anatomy and how our bodies work, helping me understand ballet technique from an anatomical perspective as well.
As a dancer, my favourite part of dancing is putting my own unique interpretation on movement and finding ways to convey these intentions to the audience. Through my own personal experiences and challenges, alongside my experience teaching others, I understand that every dancer has their own individual strengths and struggles. I would therefore like our sessions to be collaborative, working together to find an approach that suits you as an individual and helps you achieve your goals.

I am currently a Trainee Artist with London City Ballet and recently graduated from Central School of Ballet with a First Class BA (Hons) in Dance and Performance, following my time performing with their touring company, Ballet Central, across numerous venues throughout the UK.
Prior to my studies at Central, I trained in both the Vaganova method at Bayer Ballet Academy and the Cuban-style method at Western Ballet in my home country. Through my many years of training and performance, I have had the opportunity to explore a variety of ballet techniques, approaches, and teaching styles, which has given me a broad understanding of how different methods can support and benefit each dancer.
My teaching focuses on developing strong classical ballet technique while also encouraging musicality, artistry, confidence, and individual expression. I aim to create a positive and collaborative environment, adapting my approach to each dancer and their individual needs, goals, and learning style.
Lessons will typically be around one hour and are open to dancers of any age or level. I am happy to work with each student to identify what works best for them and to develop their technique and confidence at their own pace. Alongside classwork, I am also interested in coaching variation and repertoire.
