In short, I want to teach English because I am passionate about the subject - I really believe that the study of English sets you up for a fantastic future in any field. In addition, English at the secondary school level is a great preparation for university study, where you will need to have good standards of spoken and written communication.

I believe that the way forward in achieving highly in English is mastery of subject knowledge and exam skills, not just drilling quotes.
I gained GCSEs in the subject at grades 8 (literature) and 7 (language), as well as an A in English Literature A-Level.
As a trainee teacher, I undertake modules in both English Literature and Language and keep up to date with research about the teaching and learning of English. I have experience of teaching at both primary and secondary levels across all age grou[s.
