About Ann Mariya

Hello and welcome! My name is Ann Mariya, and I am incredibly excited to embark on this musical journey with you. My life has been deeply shaped by the world of singing and classical music, and it is my absolute privilege to now share that passion with you. Classical music is so much more than just learning notes on a page; it is a foundational masterclass for your voice and mind. I want to share this knowledge with you because I believe that proper vocal training is transformative. Together, we will dive into the rich traditions of classical music to build your pitch accuracy, strengthen your breath control, and expand your vocal range safely and sustainably. My goal is not just to teach you how to sing classical pieces, but to give you a powerful musical foundation that will make you a confident, versatile vocalist in any genre you choose. Music has brought immense joy, discipline, and focus to my life, and I cannot wait to help you discover your own unique voice and unlock your full potential."

About the lesson

Carnatic music is a major system of classical music from South India that focuses heavily on vocal performance, intricate rhythms, and melodic improvisation .Here we will start from basics and learn together, no pressure it will be a space where we take an adventurous endeavour in the world of Indian music. Classical music, particularly foundational systems like Carnatic or Western classical, acts as the ultimate gym for your vocal cords by demanding precise pitch control, structured breath management, and an extended vocal range. Practicing these rigorous disciplines strengthens the diaphragm, refines tone quality, and builds muscular stamina, which protects the voice from strain and injury. Beyond technical vocal mastery, engaging with classical music enhances cognitive functions like memory and focus, significantly reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels, and sharpens auditory processing skills. By forcing singers to master microtones, sustained notes, and complex rhythmic cycles, it establishes a flawless foundation of breath control and pitch accuracy that seamlessly elevates performance in any other musical genre.
