About Cerise
I have studied Japanese for around 6 years and worked as a professional translator in Japan for two years. I have just completed a one year master's on Durham University's competitive Translation Studies course. I have taught Japanese and English primarily to Business professionals and university students and mainly from Japanese into English as I am a native-English speaker. However, I am able to teach English into Japanese writing and reading as this is a core element of my translation ability. I also have access to a network of native-Japanese speakers in order to check Japanese writing.

My methodology is greatly dependent on the individual student's or class's needs and this is something that I like to decide with my students. The pace, content and priority of the lessons should be catered to the specific needs of the student as much as possible. Overall, my style is to be effective. I taught myself Japanese to Fluency level in a fairly short space of time and this is generally what I want for my students.
