About Alex

Hey there! I am a studio tutor at the Melbourne School of Design, a teaching associate at Monash University, and currently working as a Graduate of Architecture in a heritage architecture studio in Melbourne, which I thoroughly enjoy considering Melbourne is one of the cities with the richest heritage culture. I graduated with a First Class Honors from the University of Melbourne and I possess excellent computer and technical skills with advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Rhino3D, AutoCAD and Revit. Inspired by innovation, I thrive on experimenting with different concepts and have been commended for diligent and rigorous drawing skills while developing unique and thought-provoking ideas. I am trilingual and fluent in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese). Come have a chat and see how I can help you on your creative journey!

About the lesson

My lessons are catered for university students wanting some extra guidance. Having graduated from the University of Melbourne (Master of Architecture) and Monash University (Bachelor of Architectural Design) means I can help guide students of both universities through the syllabuses. I can help you with design studios, architectural theories and history, construction knowledge and technical software skills. As an international student and a high-achiever, I am certain that my diverse set of experiences and skills would help lead you on a path of curricular success. As a starting point and depending on your needs, there are a few types of lesson modes I would suggest: 1. "Quickstop" (30mins - 1hr) - great for those who require quick reviews and succinct feedback, especially useful for pre-studio meetups and pre-assignment submissions. 2. "Masterclass" (1hr - 2hr) - great for those who require technical guidance, especially useful for subjects that require step-by-step tutorials. 3. "Workshop" (2hr - 3hr) - great for those who require comprehensive reviews and studio-like experiences, especially useful for ideation and working through iterations. I will make sure that you would have constructive feedback and fresh ideas to bring home towards the end of the lessons!
