About Charlotte
Hello, I’m Charlotte Foulkes, a calm and friendly Tudor history tutor who loves making the past feel human and easy to understand. I specialise in Henry VIII, his wives and the everyday lives of Tudor people, and I teach through simple explanations, clear storytelling and a warm, steady approach. My passion for the Tudors comes from years of independent research and visiting historic places across the UK. My favourite is the Tower of London, which I’ve visited eleven times through my Historic Royal Palaces membership. I’m also working on a long-form Katherine Howard novel, which has deepened my understanding of Tudor court life, relationships and the emotional world of the period. I welcome learners of all ages, whether you’re studying for school, returning to history as an adult or simply curious about the Tudor world. My goal is always to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore history at your own pace and feel genuinely connected to the people behind the events.

My lessons are calm, clear and story-based, using simple explanations and real Tudor narratives to help learners connect with the past. I teach through gentle guidance, structured storytelling and step-by-step breakdowns rather than memorising dates. Sessions usually last 50–60 minutes and are suitable for all ages, including adults and learners who want support alongside KS2, KS3 or GCSE study. My experience comes from years of dedicated Tudor research, regular visits to historical sites such as Hampton Court, and the detailed work I’ve done while writing a long-form Katherine Howard novel. I bring genuine enthusiasm, emotional insight and a deep understanding of Tudor people and places to every lesson, making history feel human, accessible and engaging.
