About Peter
I have been speaking Spanish since high school, when I spent a year in Barcelona with a large native family. I went on to study French and Spanish in college as minors. I put this background to professional use as a reporter in Central America for nearly five years. living in Honduras and in Nicaragua and working throughout the region -- I also covered stories in Mexico and Cuba. More recently I have spent years tutoring students of all ages in the basics of Spanish and French as well as in conversation.

My application of patience and encouragement have brought out the best in students. I mix the mechanics of learning a new language with humor and using the student's interests as a way of prompting him or her to master the subject.
