As a tutor, my approach is student-centered and culturally responsive. I adapt my teaching style to meet the individual needs of each learner, especially those from Haitian Creole-speaking backgrounds.
A typical lesson starts with a short review of the previous session to reinforce retention. Then we move into new material, which I introduce gradually using examples and interactive practice. I end each session with a short recap and a few practice tasks to build confidence and fluency between lessons.
What sets me apart is my bilingual ability and experience working directly with Haitian immigrants. I understand the unique challenges they face, whether it’s adapting to a new language, a different school system, or building foundational academic skills as adults.
